About Us

 

     The idea of starting a self publishing company came about after my oldest daughter published her first children's book, What Do You See?, in 2020. After a year, or so of "Yes I'm going to do this," and then, "No, I'm not qualified enough," I decided not to follow through on the idea. Several months later I had a dream I was walking on water. At first I hadn't realized I was walking on water, but once I did I wanted to tell my friend.  I started running to get to him. As I was getting closer to him, I could hear people in the background talking. I got nervous and didn't want them to see me walking on this water, so I hurried to find dry land.

     My interpretation of that dream is the water symbolized my life, my hopes, goals, and dreams. The people talking in the background were the naysayers and my own negative thoughts and feelings I had about not having the faith or courage to begin my business. The friend I was trying to reach represented my real friend, my children, myself, and all of us that pour into others but don't always feel that we can achieve, or even deserve to "walk on water". So, in January of 2022, I Can Walk on Water Publishing, LLC was born.

     Walking on water is a metaphor for doing what seems to be impossible. Starting a self publishing company seemed impossible. Creating a logo and website on my own seemed impossible. The reality is, it wasn't impossible. I just had to stop being afraid. I had to stop doubting myself. I had to have enough faith that this was a true desire. It  was more than a silly idea. I could walk on water. All it took was "getting out of the boat".
